The burly knob of a handle on this cane was way to beautiful to carve but it certainly seemed appropriate that a bug might find it as fascinating as I did, so there’s a little ladybug crawling up the shaft. I suppose that it could have been a stag beetle or a wooly caterpillar, but a ladybug is much more friendly.
This handle is more of a knob to be comfortably grasped—unless the user has very small hands. You could almost turn this one over and use the head as a golf club. 🙂 Shortening would not be a problem.
